He is best known for his historical adventure stories that were popular in the late 19th century. His works include The Dragon & The Raven (), For The Temple (), Under Drake's Flag () and In Freedom's Cause ().   George Henry Calvert (January 2, - ) was an American editor, essayist, dramatist, poet, and biographer.[1] He was the Chair of Moral Philosophy at the newly established College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Baltimore, and in he served as Mayor of Newport, Rhode Island.

    George Henry Borrow (5 July – 26 July ) was an English writer of novels and of travel books based on his own experiences in Europe. During his travels, he developed a close affinity with the Romani people of Europe, who figure prominently in his work.
